Blue Bird bus front heat switch not working, no lower, no high

Blue Bird bus. (Left) front heat switch not working, no lower, no high. (Right) front heat switch lower and high works normal.

  1. Inspect. (Right) front switch control front left motor(underneath the seat). (Left) front switch control front right motor(underneath the seat).

  2. Check fuse.

  3. Check power to switch.

  4. Check switch.

  5. Check power supply to right motor.
    a. Remove the rear metal cover along the left inner wall

    b. Check the voltage of wire connector to the right motor


    C. Damaged motor

  6. Remove 2 motors assembly underneath. 4 screws(8mm) one motor, 2 on front, 2 on rear.


  7. Remove 4 screws on the right seat leg. 2 on front, 2 on rear.

  8. Take the motor assembly out the seat

  9. Remove the fan of right motor. 3mm elan key.


  10. Cut the two zip ties which tight the 3 wires. One on top, one on bottom.

  11. Remove the right damaged motor. 2 nuts on the back. By tapping the head of bolt.


  12. Cut the 3 wires(red, orange, black) of damaged motor. Should very near the motor side. black is ground.

  13. Front heater switch on, test voltage.

  14. Replace with new motor.

  15. Cut the 3 wires(red, orange, black) of new motor, near the motor side. Connect 3 wires with 3 proper electric clamp tube.

  16. Must test wire for low, high before clamp to the power wire.

  17. Connect 3 power wire to new motor 3 tube. red-red, orange-orange, black-black.

  18. Switch low, high speed. Switch high, low speed.

  19. Reverse the wires connection. red-orange, orange-red, black-black.

  20. Switch low, low speed. Switch high, high speed.

  21. Clamp the 3 wires connection.

  22. Install the motor to the right assembly.

  23. Tight 2 nuts on the back.

  24. Use two zip ties tight the inside 3 wires.


  25. Reinstall the fan.

  26. Reinstall the motor assembly.

  27. Reinstall the metal cover

  28. Use new 4 screws tight the right seat leg to the floor.

  29. Test
    Note: Sometime the screw to the floor round out, can not take it out normally. Cut it in the middle, hammer it from side with chisel, it will loose, turn it out with a flat driver or vise grip.
